Dog Grooming and Training Positively

Making Grooming Pawsitive!

I'm Lizi, Groomer, dog lover and recently qualified IMDT trainer, Canine Coach and ISCP Diploma in Canine Behaviour. I have 3 rescue dogs of my own (or rather they own me at times), Fyn, Kylie and Oddy. I've fostered 15 dogs over the last few years as well, and I love furthering my knowledge in dog behaviour, training and coaching, as well as Grooming.

I became a groomer after noticing that one of my dogs just wasn't the same after he came home from the groomers. He wouldn't step foot in there again. I don't know what triggered his upset, but I do know that I will always make the experience positive. I don't ever want the feeling of doubt in myself that my own dog won't even go to the groomers. I qualified as a City & Guilds Level 3 Dog groomer over 2 years ago. I come to your house, have my own equipment, just need access to a bath and somewhere quiet to set up my table. We can work at whatever pace your dog is happy with. I don't believe in forcing a dog to do anything they aren't happy with. Using positive reinforcement in training is crucial these days, why shouldn't that aply to grooming as well. If you have a good trainer, they will show you what you can do at home to make the experience less stressful. And we can work on that in the comfort of your dogs own surroundings.

Training wise, i'm always learning, always got an assignement on the go and currently very lucky to be working for Colin's K9 Training Services and Walkies with Una to help further my knowledge. I absolutely love training, and am also a qualified Canine Coach and IMDT Trainer, Canine Body Language Specialist and a Canine Behaviour Pracitioner;  it all helps to understand the grooming process as well as now being able to apply this in a training situation as well. I am absolutely loving learning all the time!

I'm fully insured and CRB checked and City & Guilds Qualified and I can ensure that your dog will be happy and we all see positive results I specialise in nervous and rescue dogs and we'll make a plan together on how to tackle the different stages.
